Is there something in the air?

I have come to stay in one of those special places in the world

• Italy
• Puglia
• Masseria Trapana

Masseria Trapana was created from an abandoned, falling down, 16^th century fortified farmhouse (that is what a Masseria is, and only in Puglia)

Yes there are many Masseria’s you can now stay in. But Trapana is special. The rooms are simply beautiful, with outdoor showers or baths, and terraces with amazing views. The six garden areas with nineteen different fruit trees. The pool !!! Underneath the courtyard is an amazing spa, pool, gym area, with the workings of the original olive oil press still there.

But all this is hotel speak, it makes Trapana a great Hotel. But there is more; a calming atmosphere that makes it hard to leave. There is so much to see and do on your doorstep – but sitting under the lemon trees in dappled light in the heat of the day, just makes you calm. Your thoughts slow, your walking slows and you are just happy to ‘be’. And the afternoon nap lures you inside, to climb up on your incredibly comfortable bed. And that’s what I am going to do right now! The Limoncello spritz will be waiting for me!
